Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Guadalajara, México. That’s where my mom is from, but my dad’s side of my family is from Hungary. I moved to the United States when I turned 18 to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
What are your responsibilities or roles in your department? As a music editor, I work closely with composers, music supervisors, and picture editors editing music for TV and Film. I cut temp music, original score, and songs, always making sure that the music works with the picture.
How did you begin working in the industry? I got my break in the industry as an intern for Gustavo Borner at igloo Music Studios. That led to working as a composer’s assistant for
Fil Eisler, then I moved on to dialogue editing,
and eventually found music editing as my
career path. I first worked as an assistant
music editor with Micha Liberman and then
independently once I met composers Zach
Robinson and Leo Birenberg, with whom I’ve
been working with the last five years.
Are there any films that inspired you to start working in television and film?
The Lord of The Rings and E.T.
What has been your favorite project to work on?
It’s hard to pick, but Cobra Kai, Maya and the Three, and Birdman have been meaningful projects in my career.
What advice would you give someone
starting out in this industry? It takes time, so don’t give up! Eventually, someone will give you an opportunity but once you get that lucky break, be ready to put in the work. Also, don’t be afraid to keep changing paths as you search for what feels right for you.
