Where did you grow up?

I was born in Panorama City, California and grew up in the Los Angeles area. My family is basically from the southwest, California, Arizona and New Mexico.

What are your responsibilities or roles in your department? My title is SPFX Technician. Our role on set, as the Special Effects Department, covers all elemental and mechanical elements on set. Fire, wind, snow, rain and water and hydraulic and pneumatic elements on the movie set.

How did you begin working in the industry? SPFX is a family thing for me. My brother, two cousins and my uncle do FX as well.

Are there any films that inspired you to start

working in television and film?

I grew up on 80’s action movies. My favorites were Predator, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon and Indiana Jones. Never actually imagined I would be able to do SPFX for a living. It's truly a blessing!

What has been your favorite project to work on?

I’ve been blessed to work on so many awesome projects. That’s a hard one to answer.

What made you want to work in your department?

My family was instrumental in my career I would not be where I am without them. They all do FX.

What advice would you give someone

starting out in this industry? The best advice I can give someone new in the industry…is to network. Get to know people in your department that are knowledgeable and learn what you can from them. Everyday is something new on a movie set that’s the best thing about the industry.

What are you working on these days? I just finished a Star Wars show!
